A: The Konus 1740 is perfect for viwing land objects. It comes complete with an erect image lens that will correct the image for land use. The Eyepiece and Filter Kit by Celestron is a separate purchase accessory. The Konus telescope comes with 2 eyepieces - a 20mm and an 8mm
Q2: whats the motor for?
A: The motor moves the telescope in concert with the Earth's rotation. That allows you to keep an object in the telescope's eyepiece as the Earth attempts to rotate out from "under" it.
